The Challenge
A major UK retail brand needed to modernise ageing IT infrastructure across four countries in Asia — a mix of regional offices and manufacturing-hub sites in Mainland China and South Asia. The constraint that shaped everything: every site was a live working environment. The refresh had to happen around the business, with no operational disruption — and it had to be coordinated across four countries at once, from the other side of the world.
The Solution
PTS delivered the refresh end to end across all sites:
- Infrastructure and hardware — delivery and cabinet installation of new servers, network switches, firewalls, IP KVM, UPS systems and environmental monitoring hardware, with procurement and logistics handled into each country.
- Connectivity — Wi-Fi controllers and access points installed across all offices, with heatmap surveys driving placement rather than guesswork.
- Structured cabling — installed, labelled, tested and documented to standard.
- Secure decommissioning — on-site drive destruction with photographic documentation of all retired hardware, and third-party certified disposal — so the audit trail was complete.
- Documentation and governance — rack elevation drawings, network topology maps and operations manuals handed over for every site.
- Coordination — weekly meetings with the client’s global teams, vendor management in each country, and rollout scheduling tuned to each location’s operating rhythm.
The Outcome
Zero downtime — all works completed in live environments without disrupting operations in any of the four countries. The client got modernised, consistently documented infrastructure ready for growth, complete asset tracking from delivery through to certified disposal, and the project landed within timeline and budget.
Why it worked
Multi-country rollouts usually fail in the coordination, not the engineering. One partner owning hardware, cabling, Wi-Fi, decommissioning and vendor management across every site — with on-site technical teams in-region and more than 25 years of APAC infrastructure delivery behind them — meant the schedule held and nothing fell between contractors.
The same regional delivery capability backs PTS Managed Services in Singapore for multi-site refreshes, office buildouts and Wi-Fi projects across APAC.
